Electronic payments firm TransFirst Holdings Inc. has been tapped by Zions Bancorporation to provide merchant credit card processing and payment services.

Dallas-based TransFirst will provide service for the Zions holding company and its eight subsidiary banks, including Houston-based Amegy Bank.

"We have the expertise and technology solutions to offer advanced processing capabilities to meet their expanding business needs," said Marla Knutson, president of TransFirst's financial institutions division, in a written statement.
