The fastest-growing private company in America is nestled in a smallish office on the second floor of the third tower over at Cross Point.

The September issue of Inc. magazine ranked credit-card processing company Litle & Co. first on its annual list of 500 companies, and devoted a three-page spread to an interview with founder and chairman Tim Litle.

Litle, 66, told The Sun he knew his company would do well in the rankings -- Litle & Co. has enjoyed a 5,629 percent increase in revenue over three years -- but he never expected to be number one.

"I was amazed, I was really surprised," he said. "I was really happy because it pretty much validates  our premise that we were doing things right."
